Maximum Output

More than 1,300 coaches and athletes have used Speed Kills. They’ve run personal bests, had career best seasons, stayed healthy, and gotten exactly what we hoped they would get out of the program.

Maximum Output is the first true follow up to Speed Kills.

But this isn’t Speed Kills with a few new exercises. It’s the next evolution of how I train athletes.

My programming is always changing because I’m always learning. Every year I make adjustments based on what I see with my athletes, feedback from other coaches, new research, and thousands of hours spent actually coaching.

I keep what continues to work, change what I think can work better, and remove things when I no longer believe they are giving us enough return.

Maximum Output is where that process has taken me today.

Like my other programs, it begins with a written section explaining the methods behind the programming. More importantly, I walk you through what changed and why.

– Why the running volume came down slightly.

– Why I moved toward heavier resisted sprinting.

– Why I came back to box squats.

– Why loaded jumps became a bigger part of the program.

– And why I reduced most of the direct hamstring work as sprint intensity climbed, including the research that pushed my thinking in that direction.

You don’t just get my answers. You get how I arrived at them.

Then you get 8 weeks of completely new programming that has already been battle-tested with a strong group of athletes.

The goal is simple, build the most explosive, freakishly fast and strong athletes possible.

You will sprint. You will jump. You will train for strength and power. You will condition.

But the goal isn’t to cram as much work as possible into eight weeks. Everything is organized around efficiency: enough volume and intensity to drive adaptation without filling the program with work that does not earn its place.

The first four weeks accumulate quality work and build toward a more intensive second block. As the program progresses, sprint intensity rises, the strength work evolves, and the emphasis shifts toward expressing the qualities you have developed.

In the back half, athletes can choose between a field and reactive-agility option built for team-sport athletes or a speed-endurance option for sprinters and athletes who need longer high-speed exposures.

Want to run the entire system the way I would build it? Start with GPP Reloaded. It develops the general preparation, work capacity, and training base that should come first, then flows naturally into Maximum Output.

Speed Kills showed you how I trained speed then. Maximum Output shows you how I train it now.
